GRANTING
Philanthropy is not about charity; it’s about justice. We grant to dismantle injustice, defend rights, and drive bold action for people and the planet.
We grant in two ways:
-
Through a PAF
Fairground supports organisations with large grants via a private ancillary fund (PAF)
Under the Taxation Administration (Private Ancillary Fund) Guidelines, there are regulations on who, and how, we can fund. Importantly, only deductible gift recipients (DGRs) are eligible to receive funds.
Registered Charities with DGR status may be eligible for this type of funding.
-
With Direct Funding
Fairground also supports organisations through a more flexible, non-PAF vehicle.
We provide smaller grants to organisations who do not meet the requirements for a PAF
For example, newer organisations, those that do not have DGR1 status, and those that engage in political advocacy.
All of our partner organisations work in the areas of human rights, climate justice, and strengthening democracy.
