partnerships for change

  • Grata Fund

In 2021, we granted $70,000 to Grata in support of Uncle Pabai and Uncle Paul’s climate case in the Federal Court. In 2024, we committed $1M to be granted over 3 years to the Grata Fund’s general work in strategic litigation. The funds will be used to create a pool of guarantees to support future legal action, and to employ Indigenous lawyers.

  • National justice Project

In 2020, we granted our first concessional loan to NJP to support their strategic litigation. In 2024, we partnered again with NJP to support an alternative first responders community-based, non- police emergency response to address discriminatory policing in cases involving people experiencing mental health challenges.

  • Yes23

Over 2022 and 2023, we closely partnered with the Yes campaign, with the mission of enshrining an Indigenous voice to Parliament in the Australian Constitution and to grant First Australian the right to provide advice to the Parliament on the policies that impact their lives. We remain committed to this cause and to the rights of our Indigenous brothers and sisters.

  • Environmental Defenders Office

We supported EDO to undertake investigations and research for climate justice in the Pacific, focusing on loss and damage and adaptation costs associated with climate change impacts, and how this can be used in legal challenges.

  • The Guardian

In 2020 we funded three major Guardian Australia investigations, helping to shine light on under-covered issues including: 1. Dreams Interrupted, exploring mounting youth unemployment, 2. Childhood in Custody, exposing stories of incarcerated Indigenous children, and 3. The Voice, Ask Me Anything: a podcast series on the Indigenous Voice to Parliament referendum

  • human rights law centre

Since 2006, the Human Rights Law Centre has advanced and protected the human rights of millions of people in Australia through a unique combination of strategic legal action, advocacy, and targeted media. Since 2024 we have supported HRLC and thier work in climate justice.

  • australian democracy network

ADN’s special sauce is their ability to gather charities together and work collectively for change.
